Could be that the heat sinks are full of dust, thus preventing proper cooling of the cpu, try to remove the bottom panel and clean the cpu fan and heat sink. This is the most common reason of overheating.

Looks like another fancy portable heating system there made by FSC!!! If it's shutting itself down just take it to FSC to have the machine replaced, this sounds terribly wrong...if it's in warranty, of course...if not, you'll probably have to clean the CPU and the GPU fans and surroundings in order to get rid of the dust...but thе chance is that the heat already destroyed your hardware...

The problem with the FAN at normal is when i'm runing world of warcraft .

When i start my laptop in 2 min the CPU temp is going 71 and the HD temp 32 is that normal ? i mean CPU temp is staying at 71*C and when i run WoW is going 90.
Also when i run wow i hear that the fans is working fast ... but how fast can be fast when my cpu temp is going 90+ and the system shutdown automatic.
And is somthing strange happen at my laptop.
-When i start the laptop like now it show that CPU runing at 2.00GHz when i run World of warcraft is showing 800Hz
Erm what wrong is going here? the FPS have to do with the CPU speed as well . cz the "lag" is coming from the slow speed of memory and cpu+ graphic card.

When i'm runing any kind of programs photoshop etc i dont have problem with the fan and the temp is at normal. any sugguestions? (for the CPU speed and FPS)

http://support.fujitsu-siemens.com/com/ ... loads.html
Choose: Notebooks->Amilo->Amilo A->A1650
Don't know if these are really the latest drivers, you should check the manufacturer site of each component, to get the really latest drivers.

No, it means that the driver works, and has no issues, orange means that it's not teste for that particular model..., red means that it doesn't work. More or less :D

I have Fujitsu-Siemens a1650g too, and for starters, this is not a laptop for gaming ok

What I have noticed, there might be a little problem with heat transfer from CPU to heatsink with these laptops. Mine started to have overheating problems when I removed the heatsink and replaced the old dried "gum" with normal paste. I just wanted to improve the heat transfer and clean out the dust, because my Amilo begun to run pretty hot even on idle for some reason.

Normally, when power management profile "laptop" is selected, Amilo is running around +47C (at speed 800MHz) and when doing much more CPU intensive work it rises to +80C (at speed 2,4GHz), sometimes +90C above and laptop shuts down.

The real problems with my laptop started, when I removed the original thermal "gum" between heat sink and CPU, and replaced it with normal paste, as I told before. Fan was running at max speed all the time etc. So I soon find out that even if you screw the heat sink four screws back as far as they go, the heatsink doesnt touch well enough the surface of the CPU core... So next step for me was to hack the heat sink mounting a bit.. I think it is originally supposed not to directly touch the core, in case of drop it would harm the core.. not sure about that, but there is also a tiny design fault that prevents heat sink touching evenly the core... didn't find anyone selling this original thick gum... so... I did some modifications and applied some basic thermal compound...

Now my Amilo cools down as it used to and more. But there are at least two other places where this "thermal-gum" is applied. The x200 core top and I suppose one place is the voltage regulator at the spot where power source is.

So, my point is, that when laptop is being "cooked" with heavy use for a period of time (2 years or so), the thermal-gum-compound dries out and looses it's heat conductivity/contact between CPU and heatsink. I have seen similar problems with other brands too. Of course, dust is the main problem at first.

Amilo is running just fine with those old drivers. Only drivers I have updated are Catalyst drivers for x200 (now version 07.12) and Texas Instruments PCIxx21 Integrated FlashMedia drivers (version 2.0.0.7, had some trouble with Kingston 2Gb cards).
