Also, for those wanting to learn how to do this please click on the following link:

http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

I will post some screenshots later and make a guide for anyone thats interested.

Graphics card works without any changes.
Sound - requires a kext file to be installed (like a driver file)
Ethernet works straight out of the box
Wireless - you need to get a broadcom 4311 pci express card and tape pin 11 so that it powers on when mac boots up. (costs about £12)

The only issues once installed are during boot up, you may need to boot several times to get past a half white/half black screen that sometimes appears. I havn't figured out how to fix this yet.

Ah...when I read the title I wondered "How did he get the wireless working?" as I have managed to install it too, but due to the power off state of the card during boot it didn't work for me. You just replaced it...
Before anyone installs it on their system, you should be aware of the fact that this is illegal (you're installing Apple software on non-Apple hardware).

Im not 100% sure by when i installed Mac for the first time the provided wireless card was recognised, but just not enabled - if that was the case then a pin trick might work. I think you have to cover different pins for different cards.

Update and quick guide:

Graphics now work 100% - i originally did not install the X3100 kexts that came with the distro i downloaded, but tried and all works well now.

What you will need.

Hardware
£16 Broadcom 4311 PCI Express card to replace your existing one.

Software to download (may as well have it all on a memory stick before you begin!)

All these application can be found by googling

1)OSX86Tools
2)Mac 10.5.5 update (not the combo one! - you need the 360ish mb one)http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx1055update.html
3) ALC268Installer 2 or 1
4) Voodoo kernel (currently beta 2)

Installation

1) Right then first you will need you distro - google aitkos 4i 10.5.4 torrent and download and burn the dvd
2) Make sure in your bios that ACPI is set to disabled
3) Install the broadcom card and cover pin 11 (google guide for this)
4) Pop the disk in and boot up - it will start to install
5) Before you get to the installation part you must format your disk (when you get to the point where a menu appears at the top of your screen do the following Utilities > Disk Utilities. I personally create 2 partitions (set to GUID) one called OSX and the other SPARE - once you have created these close the Disk Utilities and continue.
6) Select the drive to install the OS onto a click next. Make sure that when you get to the customise install screen you click on customise.
7) The only things you need to select are - Patches > Bios (just pick the first on) and VGA > Intel > X3100
8) Continue install until you get the green tick at the end to reboot.
9) Reboot machine. You may find the first time you reboot before creating you account is that your screen may go corrupted once, just reboot until it gets to the account screen.
10) Once your account is setup you will have MAC installed on your system!

At this point you ethernet will be working & your sound will work but not with headphones in but before we sort this out you will need to update MAC to 10.5.5.

11) Copy OSX86tools into your applications folder
12) Open up Terminal found in > Utilities > Terminal
13) In terminal type "sudo -s" without the quotes, then type again without the quotes "while sleep 1 ; do rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext ; done"
14) Leave the terminal running in the background and install the 10.5.5 update - follow all instructions and reboot your MAC.You should now be on 10.5.5
15) Once rebooted you can update the kernel to the Voodoo beta 2 kernel to do this open OSX86Tools and click on install kernel. This will let you backup your old kernel. Then install the new kernel and reboot.
17) To get the sound working double click on the ALC268Installer 2 or 1 - when this has finished reboot. Simple. You have to make sure that you select either internal when using headphones and external when through the laptop speakers.
18) You should now have a 100% working MAC

The last thing you can also fix is getting the Battery metre showing in the top bar - i have had to rush this guide but will amend once i remember how to do it.

Let me know how you get on or email me justinhraymond@hotmail.com if you have any questions. Or add them onto this post.

regards
Justin

Hi, thanks for the guide.

I "toyed" with the idea of installing Mac to my Scaleo T, but although Mac OS is more reliable than Windows, I bottled it.

There wouldn't be any fun if Windows worked without problems.

8)
Use anti virus, backup your data, use google.
POST BACK EVEN IF THE HELP DOESN'T HELP.

A Thank You would be nice if I have helped.

Update - do not intstall the voodoo kernel as this will make the laptop do the white screen on boot up and take half a dozen restarts to get it working again!

I will try this again - just now that I've used my old Mac again I feel like I need Mac OS X.
I'll first try without replacing the wireless card, as I'm happy with it. Maybe I should experiment with this to find out which pin to tape on it?
I had a Kalyway 10.5.2 image, but I'm now downloading the iAtkos (you made a typo in your instructions) 10.5.4
I'll let you know soon whether it works or not. I really hope it does. I'm starting to get Mac-addicted again.

I do not think any pin trick will work with the wireless card provided. I did a lot of research and found that although there were kext files written for the Dev_ID and Ven_ID of the card - MAC would not actually see it, even with the kexts installed.

Believe me when i say it is alot less complicated to just buy an alternative card - and will also save hours of time!

Unfortunately, you were right and I was unsuccesful in taping the pin.
This site however, says it can be done with an Atheros AR5700EG, so I think it might have something to do with my taping skills. (I never managed to cut the piece right/put it on the right pin/...)
http://www.insanelymac.com/lofiversion/index.php/t15659.html
I found one link to the Broadcom card you specified, http://cgi.benl.ebay.be/PCI-E-broadcom-4311-wireless-wifi-card-54M-802-11G-UK_W0QQitemZ370100017724QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item370100017724&_trkparms=72%3A1399|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A12|240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 (I hope you can view this link), but the seller will only accept PayPal, which I don't have and which I'm not old enough to have it already. Where did you get yours? I assume you live in the UK, that's a reasonable shipping distance.
Otherwise I'll have to buy an external wireless adapter, which is a bit inconvenient, but at least I'll have internet then. Or maybe I'll be able to use the Linux Acerhk solution (they're both *nix systems, but probably it won't work).

The card on the paypal link is the right card - pin 11 trick will work fine on that one. You can use the ethernet?

About to begin install...
It should work because it worked when I tried Kalyway.

I get an Apple boot screen, with a sign in the middle (the one that looks like an O with a diagonal line in it...can't find the word) after installing iAtkos 10.5.4 (got it off The Piratebay)
Have you got any idea why this happens/what I can do about it? I'll try searching it but have you got this problem before?

Did you burn the DVD at 2x speed, sometimes if you set the burn speed too high it can cause a few issues. Can you email me a screenshot of the error.

Also have to checked bios to see if ACPI is enabled or disabled. Should be set to disabled. Also at what part of the install did this occur?

I burned it at 4x speed. That should be low enough to prevent file reading errors.
It occured after the install (after the green tick), when rebooting.
It boots for about 5 minutes, then this sign shows up. I've tried reproducing it with ascii art (see below, note that it's supposed to be a circle with a line through it). It just pops up in the centre of the screen, partially covering the "Apple sign".
Please help me, as I'm getting tired of booting into Windows.
I'm going to try installing it again, maybe that works.
